Code for radio for a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage DE? I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage and changed battery an lost code. Does anyone have the code, please

Christina P replied: "This is something I had to do, it wasn't cool The dealer can get the code by the serial number on the back of the stereo for $80. If you are lucky someone may have wrote the number in the owners manual, There is a place in the manual to write it down. I hope it goes better for you than it did for me."

dtrulifeplaya replied: "check glove box/owners maual. door jams. if nothing else you can take the radio out by puliing the trim around radio off.taken srews out of radio. serial number on top. call dealer get the code."

I have a 94 mitsubishi mirage having problems starting it alternator nd battery are fine? worked fine up until today tried to start it and it just wouldnt turn over it tries to turn over but doesn't I think maybe the compressor has something to do with it but not sure

Mike D replied: "Does it turn over at all or just click?, You might want to check your starter, cables, or ignition wiring"

what does it mean when the battery and brake light go on at the same time in a mitsubishi mirage 2000? i had this problem with my mirage that the service engine light wouldn't come out no matter what i did, well the lights always flicker in my car and we (me and my boyfriend) thought it was the alternator so we went along and bought a new alternator as soon as he put the new one in the service engine came out but the brake and battery light came out at the same time. then a couple of days ago the sevice engine came back so now i have all three flashing at me and i have no clue what it might be. please help.. o yea i put a new battery too.

kelly_f_1999 replied: "well guessing cost you money and the light can mean a few things so know what the problem is would have been smarter than replacing thing by guessing.... have the car scan will put a better ideal in your head as to what it might be try autozone for free"

John doe replied: "alternator or battery"

I changed the battery and my stereo system went wack. How can I get the security code for my Mitsubishi? The car is a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage, and I wouldn't care except for I can't play CD's or use my satellite radio until I get the code.

PMack replied: "If you have the original documentation, it should be in there with it. If you don't, you need to see a Mitsubishi dealer to get the code."

Nicholas M replied: "well, for 1) you shouldn't of changed the battery in the first place because they are lithium-ion. They just needed to be shaken up and you got juice. You can do one of two things. Get a modified (or moded as i called it) CD Player or hit up the dealership you went to and ask for the code, or look in the manual that came in the car."

Gambit-Xen replied: "check the manual or dealer 4 code or google down bro."

I am in Indianapolis and my 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage failed to start. Suggest ways out? The temperatures are around 0 to -10 these days and so I thought the battery would have failed to give the required power. But observing now I feel it could be the old spark plugs which could be the possible reasons . For quite long they have not been replaced . Experts pls help !

Chuck Norris replied: "If you haven't cranked the crap out of the battery already trying to start the car, take the battery out of the car and bring it inside for a while to warm it up. That may be all you need to do to get the car to start - warm up the battery if no one else is around to give you a jumpstart. You could also get a jumpstart from another car and that should get you started. At -10 degrees, even decent batteries will begin to fail starting a car. If you're near a gas station or are at home or someplace around people, you should be able find someone to give you a jumpstart and you'll be fine once the car starts. Spark plugs are almost certainly not the problem if they worked fine before it got cold. It's most likely just the battery being too cold."

kevin g replied: "IF IT TURNS OVER THE ISSUE DOES NOT LIE WITH YOUR STARTER. IM IN CINCINNATI SO I UNDERSTAND THE COLD ISSUE WHICH COULD OPEN THE DOOR FOR NUMEROUS POSSIBILITIES. IF YOU HAVE CRANK BUT NO START MORE THAN LIKELY THE DISTRIBUTOR. ANY CONDENSATION INCLUDING ICE WILL NOT LET THE DISTRIBUTOR FIRE. IF YOU HAVE THE 1.8L ENGINE I HAVE SEEN ISSUES WITH MFI RELAY FREEZING. GOOD LUCK"

Can anyone one help in getting the anti theft code for my 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage car stereo? I had changed the battery on the vehicle, but I had misplaced the code a while back. As you and I probably know that changing your battery doesn't happen that often. So in the time between the first battery change I misplaced the code to reactivate the stereo. I called the dealer and they are charging way too much to give me the code. We owners of this kind of vehicle need to change the battery every now and then as they don't last forever. To me it is just poor service from the dealer, they want me to pull the player out and give them the serial number. Thats just plain ridiculous and then charge me!! Please anyone help... Please email me with the code.. I greatly appreciate your help. Take Care and God Bless!!

foxtel_iq replied: "I would call mitsubishi directly, they are generally quite helpful. I do agree you shouldnt be punished for the loss of a piece of paper - however is it not written in the owners manual somewhere? good luck"

Ms. "J " replied: "Call the dealership and have your vin# number ready for service"

bigcrazyguinea replied: "you don't need your Vin but you do need to pull the radio and get the serial # off the top of it then go to the dealer with proof of ownership and the serial# and they will get you the code most will not do this over the phone"

On.OR.oFF replied: "HI .. GO TO THE DEALER AND ASK THEM TO GET THE CODE FOR U !!!!"

Lisa S replied: "Hey I had the same problem with mine and like the other guy said u have to pull out your radio and get the serial number and have proof u own the car. No real dealership should charge you b/c u didn't buy it new right? I went to a mitsubishi dealership and they didn't charge me a thing. Call around b/c they shouldn't charge u for the number!"

how to reset computer on a 2001 mitsubishi mirage.? aside from disconnecting battery, i want to to know the exact real way how to do it, i searched all over every forum i could find, and that is the only thing i couldnt find.

BDCardinal replied: "resetting the computer will require an ODB2 scan tool. to just clear codes you can use a generic one available at any parts store. to do a clean install of the software will require a manufacturer specific scan tool, usually they are around $10,000 for each manufacturer with about $2-4,000 a year in required software updates."

smokey replied: "contact dealership"

Pdaddy replied: "You can disconnect the battery for about 1/2 hour that should erase all the settings and reset the computer"

Mr Teal 137 replied: "your right not to disconnect the battery, if you do it to much you car will get registered as a lemon, if you just won't to clear codes you can got a parts place like checker or autozone and they should be able to do it for you."

91 Mitsubishi Mirage 1.5L won't start? I have a 3rd generation Mitsubishi Mirage L4 1.5L 3-Door hatchback (its a non-interference engine, thank god). In a (half-@$$ed) attempt to fix what I thought was a timing belt that slipped (and screwed up the timing), I took off the upper timing belt cover, took the timing belt off the cam sprocket and attempted to move the sprocket over slightly.... well, needless to say, the sprocket jumped over 90 degrees (I'm an aspiring mechanic). After some research, I pulled the spark plugs, put the belt back on the sprocket and used the crank shaft pulley to manually turn the cam to the TDC mark. I then took the belt back off the cam sprocket and manually moved the crank pulley to the TDC mark, then put the belt back on the cam sprocket. This should have put the crank and cam back into alignment (as far as I know). I put the plugs back in (they all look good) and wires back on (new wires) and adjusted the distributor to a mid position. When I turn the key and crank it now, the engine turns (without any audible knocking or anything) but wont fire. It doesn't even seem to attempt to fire. I thought "maybe its flooded?", so I put a battery charger on to bring the battery back up to normal and let the car sit for an hour or so. I crank it over and still nothing, not even a burp. Any ideas? Did I completely screw up my car? Has spark. Can smell gas. could there be a sensor that, if bad, would prevent the ECU from delivering gas to the engine? Or inject gas at the wrong time?

BMP replied: "check spark, check gas, has both should start, sounds like a fuel pump"
