Chilton manual is correct. You should use ONLY Honda MTF fluid. You will find the same statement in Helms manual (Dealer manual) There is no purpose of using anything else because with Honda MTF, the transmission will outlast the life of the car and there isn't any performance gain using synthetic transmission fluid."
99 honda prelude transmission problems? I have a 99 lude base and the problems are when the engine is cold I can shift fine into all gears but .... engine get to operating temp I can't shift into any gears at all !!! only way to get into gear is that i have to kill the engine and than i can engage into gear.... I have replaced the clutch and throw out bearing, and the clutch slave cyl. use honda mtf 2.5 qts in it. not sure what's going on this is not my first time I'd changed a clutch done many on honda's but this one got me confused lol see what you guys think about this one Thanks
