How do I replace the headlight bulbs on a 2007 nissan altima? Please answer if you have done it by yourself? How do I replace the headlight bulbs on a 2007 nissan altima? Please answer if you have done it by yourself before

The Fourth replied: "Let me first say that I have a 2002 Altima but don't believe the headlight mechanism changed much on the new body. Secondly, it is a pain in the you know what. When I changed mine, I had to go up through the wheel to get to the right headlight. Going mostly by feel you have to turn the headlight cap (on the back of the light) 1/2 turn counterclockwise to get to the actual bulb. At this point you need to get the old headlight out by popping it off WITHOUT BREAKING IT!!! Then try and get the new one in without touching the bulb itself (try tight fitting not to thick gloves). It took me about an hour to figure this all out but I ended up saving like $40 by doing it myself. Finally, hopefully I am wrong about Nissan not changing the headlight mechanism because the whole experience is a pain."

John Paul replied: "Low beams H-1 bulbs are accessable from behind, under gray screw off covers (remove intergrated power sypply assembly and the coolant recovery bottle). Any other bulb replacment you will have to remove the bumper cover and headlight assembly's or try going thru removing the inneer fender liner. Remember Head light and all bulbs are warrantied for 3 years 36,000 miles. Using higher wattage blue bulbs or HID's will void the warranty of the head lamp assembly. And make sure you get the back of the head light properly reassembled so moisture won't get into the head lamp."

how do i replace the headlight bulbs on a 2007 nissan altima? without going to the dealer or paying a mechanic ive been looking online and cant find anything... anybody out there know how?

Live 2 hunt replied: "The entire headlight assembly should be removed fairly easily, Just look for the screws. Then the bulb should twist out of the back of it. Be careful not to touch the glass glass on your new bulb though, the oils on your skin have been known to signifficantly reduce the life of the new bulbs."

Country Boy replied: "The entire headlight buckets are easily removed from the top of the engine compartment. Nylon clips and or screws hold them in place. Don't mess with the headlight adjusting screws. The whole assembly comes out and the bulbs turn out by twisting them an eighth of a turn. Be careful not to touch the new bulbs with your hands. Dab on a little silicone ignition grease on the contact points before forcing the new bulbs back in the sockets. Use a paper towel to insert them in the sockets. Grease and or oil from your hands will cause the new bulbs to over heat and break."

bullrider replied: "Still should be under warranty"

How do you replace the headlight bulbs in a 1995 Nissan Altima? I don't even know how to remove the headlight covers. I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could walk me step by step through the process from the beginning. Thanks!

David M replied: "Depend on the location, driver or passengere side? You may need to remove the coolant reservoir on the drivers side if this is the one needing changed. Just unplug the harness from the bulb you may need to pry up on the retaining tab on the harness to remove it, secondly there is a reatining or locking ring holding the bulb in, just turn it counter-clockwise to remove it, then simply pull on the bulb to remove. Take notice where the flat spot is on the bulb as the new one has to go in the same way, install in the reverse of these instructions. If its the passenger side it is pretty accesible, just repeat the instruction. Do not touch the glass part of the bulb with your fingers as this will cause premature failure from the body oils."

quick_ridez replied: "Your bulbs should come out through the back, you may have to remove your battery to gain access to one of them, they should just twist to loosen, you may have to fiddle with them a bit to get them loose after you have twisted them. By twist I mean, they should only twist about 45-90 degrees then pull out. Usually they twist to the left. Lefty loosey, Righty tighty. Once you have them out, the electrical connector should come off while you press (or pry) the little tab that holds the bulb to it. Never touch the glass on new bulbs, the oil from your fingers will cause hot spots on the bulb, and they will be more likely to blow out early."

Robert T replied: "step 1 - find lucky baseball bat step 2 - swing bat at headlight housing step 3 - remove bad bulb and replace with new one step 4 - use clear duck tape to reconstruct headlight (note: future bulb changes will be easier)"

Alex L replied: "You don't need to remove anything. Just open the hood, reach the bulb housing where the wires go in, and turn whichever way it turns (don't remember if it's clockwise or ccw) and pull to get the bulb housing out. Shouldn't take more than a minute or two. Then replace the bulb(s), and follow these directions in reverse to reassemble."

A 1994 Nissan Altima Headlight Problem? I have a 1994 Nissan Altima, and I went to remove the passanger side headlight bulb, from the lense. There is a little clip/spring that holds the bulb in place inside the lense to keep it from being angled in the lense. Now that its not there, my headlight is pointing to the sky. I know the little clip/spring that holds it in place is part of the lense assembly, so the proper fix would be to replace the entire assembly, however I don't have the money since I'm out of work to replace the assembly even with a used one. Does anyone know a fix to this that I can do to it, to keep my headlight straight in the lense, instead of being angled, without replacing the lense, that is cost free?

gary o replied: "Go to an auto wrecker and just get the part you need. One of those you pull it places. Otherwise drive during the day."

Change the headlight bulbs on a 2002 Nissan Altima? I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to cars. I need to replace the bulbs for my headlights. The Nissan manual says to take it to the dealer. How much would they charge for something like that? Is it easier to do it myself without breaking something else? It looks like you have to move certain pieces to get to the light? Any advice from someone who knows about this car>

EnergieVDT replied: "1. You need to find the size for your car (check here) 2. If installing it yourself, make sure you wear gloves and DO NOT touch the bulbs with your fingers if you're not wearing gloves. 3. It's pretty simple, just take out the plug that connects to the bulbs, then take the bulbs out carefully and replace and plug back in."

John Paul replied: "Actually first couple of years Altima's had a Grounding issue reacall. NTB05-057 " PB135 " Please get you car back to the dealer to catch up with the recalls and service campaigns. I am just guessing here it is the low beam light(s) that are not working. High beam lamps are harder to change. With a little luck you may end up with a new headlight assembly."

Replacing the Headlight bulbs on a '96 Nissan Altima? I have a 1996 Nissan Altima that the driver side headlight bulb died, and I got a new pair to replace them both with. But the problem is, it's a bit more complicated than anticipated. I read that you need to remove the battery and the cooling resivoir, and I got the battery out, but the coolant thing doesn't seem to be coming out. Also, on the driver side, with the battery out, I still can't seem to get the bulb itself out, I got the ring unlocked, but I don't know where to go, there's some clip, but that doesn't go very far. Someone please help, pictures would be nice as well. Thanks alot. Tom

nissan altima headlight issue? my altima 1997 headlight (driver side) keeps going out. I have replaced it 3 times in the last 3 months already. so we are talking that each new bulb that i have replaced only lasts about 1 month. As far as buying the right bulb im pretty sure im getting the right one because i have gone to strauss and autozone and they said that im getting the right type of bulb for my car. Note: the headlight that goes out is always the one on the left (driver side) any ideas... thx

Amador J replied: "when you install the new bulb are you being careful and not touching the glass on the bulb?the oil on your your hands can cause the bulb to prematurly fail."

How do I replace the bulb for the low and high beam headlights on a 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5S? I can't seem to find out how to get to them.

jeffrey p replied: "Pretty easy. Open the hood and gain access to behind the headlight. The light buld will twist out, twist the bulb connector out and replace the light bulb."
